Physical Development

You guessed it another topic from the mission statement. This time around it is over physical development. Physical goals for myself would be getting better endurance. I want also want to be able to run a mile and not want to pass out afterwards. I want better endurance because it would help at dance class. It would also be incredible useful for when I'm teaching dance class, so that I have the energy to keep up the young girls that I assistant teach. The endurance would also pay off for my other goal of running the mile. Besides the endurance and running, I think I would like to work on my core strength. In order to strengthen my core, I'm going to attempt to do 20 sit ups every day.

hey Mo! Good goals, but honestly, crunches do more for you than sit-ups do. i got up to 300 a work-out over the summer, and had awesome abs! But you really have to keep at it, 'cause I've lost almost all of it now. Come to track with me- start off with just running one lap and walking 3, then gradually move up! That's kinda what I'm doing now, only with miles...

I myself had trouble running the mile and not passing out. I wish our wonderful gym teacher would give us some warning so that I could prepare for the run. I do sit-ups every day. I won't deny that it helps. But unfortunately, my leg strength wasn't adiquate. If you would like to improve your running ability,I would advise you to also exersize your leg muscles- which you probably have plenty of from your dance classes. Question: What is "core strength"? I have never heard of it, but if sit-ups will help with that, maybe I should make an attempt to do more.
